Happy Father’s Day – Schéine Pappendag

Sunday, 2 October 2022

We would like to send our great thank you and sincere gratitude to Nhood Luxembourg, and the Management of the Kirchberg Shopping Center for having a chance to use their premises to celebrate Luxembourg Father’s Day (Pappendag) this past Saturday, 1 October 2022.

The FAD™ Info Stand and the venue itself was a great success. Our presence was welcome, we were supported by the visitors of the mall and Nhood was applauded for allowing FAD™ to organise the event. As part of the celebration, we held many important discussions and the kids had a lot of fun playing and drawing. FAD™ Representatives handed out balloons, chocolates and shared informative material. We spoke about the importance of both parents’ presence in child’s life.

Most importantly, throughout our discussions we raised awareness and the need to make Shared Parenting – Résidence Alternée NOT JUST as an option but THE DEFAULT LAW, a RULE, and a starting point for all custody proceedings in Luxembourg. All in the best interest of Luxembourg children, in the name of gender parental equality and to respect Council of Europe Resolution – CE 2079/15. The Resolution initiated in 2015 by Ms. Françoise HETTO-GAASCH, Luxembourg politician (CSV), adopted unanimously by all EU member states to protect children and to promote equal shared parental responsibility post separation and divorce.

Unfortunately, in Luxembourg Résidence Alternée is only an option, NOT implemented into Luxembourg national legislation as a RULE and as a result rarely introduced by the judges of the Luxembourg Family Courts. Mainly because of the outdated and gender bias discriminatory approach. This Luxembourg political delay and lack of clear guidance for the Luxembourg Family Courts cause suffering of Luxembourg children and often leads to severe emotional child abuse in a form of Parental Alienation (PA). Please help us STOP this! You can visit www.FAD.lu to learn more and if possible please make a DONATION. Every euro makes a difference. Lëtz’ STAY UNITED! Thank you.

Also, with the upcoming local elections in Luxembourg in 2023, FAD – Fathers Against Discrimination asbl will be in contact with Luxembourg political parties. We will be reviewing their programs as well as the views of local officials running for sits in local elections. The aim will be to learn about their political stand regarding the FAD™ 3 Postulates presented to the public in 2019. When voting in the elections, our members and their families, including grandparents and eligible to vote children will take into consideration how Luxembourg parliamentary votes were cast on March 18th, 2021 on Motion No.3122 – “Création de structures d’hébergement pour hommes et garçons victimes de violence domestique”. We will also look into other still unresolved issues Luxembourg families and Luxembourg children must face in Luxembourg.

More details about FAD™ and other information including empirical studies and presentations can be found when typing specific key words of choice using FAD™ Search Engine in the right top corner of this website.
