Does a Love of a Father for His Children Has Less Value Than Love of a Mother

DOES LOVE OF A FATHER FOR HIS CHILDREN HAS LESS VALUE THAN LOVE OF A MOTHER?

As a member of the UN, Luxembourg has signed the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child and then ratified the Convention by means of the Law of 20 December 1993. The purpose of the Convention is to protect children’s rights and improve their lives. The law stipulates, for example, that children shall have:

“the right to freedom of opinion and expression”
“the right to have contact with their mother and father, etc.”

Although Luxembourg ratified the Convention, Luxembourg courts continuously ignore the rights of children to freely express their opinion and needs during custody hearings and then violate these rights arguing that the actions taken to award mothers with custody by template approach without looking into the case or even worse ignoring psychological evaluation is done in their best interest. This needs to STOP.

Please sign FAD Petition and help us make 50/50 Shared Parenting a part of the Luxembourg Family Law and a rule for custody hearings just as it has been in Belgium since 2006. It takes 5 seconds. We can change things.
