In October 2023 Dr. Najat Maalla M’JID, UN Special Representative on Violence Against Children visited  Luxembourg. The invitation was facilitated by OKaJu, and the visit involved a series of meetings and panel discussions with various stakeholders, institutions, and non-profit organizations.

While we understand the importance of such engagements and the need to prioritise certain discussions, we believe that FAD, which is deeply committed to the best interests of children, could have provided valuable insights and contributions to the discussions, allowing Dr. M’JID to have a better understanding of the situation in Luxembourg.

The mission of our association aligns closely with the goals of such meetings, and we have always been keen to cooperate and share our experiences and knowledge.

It is disappointing that FAD was not informed of the upcoming visit nor any of our representatives invited to participate in any of the meetings and discussions that took place. Considering carefully selected invitees it is most than likely that many topics were not raised such as violations of children’s rights in Luxembourg Family Courts after parents’ separation as well as excruciating problem with Luxembourg Institutional Trafficking of Children – Multi Million €uro Industry.
